Small redeyed damselfly (Erythromma viridulum) The green female is ovipositing and the blue male with the red eyes holds on to her until she is finished doing it. He keeps holding her to avoid other males mating with her, because the last one who does is the one who fertilizes the eggs - so he makes sure it's his offspring! Nature at work...
Green Snaketail (Green Gomphid) ♀ (Ophiogomphus cecilia) Red List Germany: cat. 2 (very endangered) Teneral female right after emergence, waiting for her wings to dry in the afternoon sun before she can start her maiden flight. This is the most dangerous time in the life of a dragon - if a predator swoops in during that time, there's nothing the dragon can do about it and she is devoured before her life really started. So I stayed and watched over her for about an hour to make sure that wouldn't happen in her case :-)
