Red-veined Darter, newly emerged ♂ (Sympetrum fonscolombii) | Selys, 1840 Male juvenile Red-veined Darters look exactly like mature females in this species, you can mainly differentiate them by the missing ovipositor. This young male was on his maiden flight right after his metamorphosis and perched on this flower for a while to let his wings dry and admire the sunset together with me :-)
